How To Become Pure

Tit 1:15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
Isa 6:5 ¶ Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.

This is a place that all people need to come to if they are to truly clean up their lives and turn to God. Many times we have an inflated view of ourselves and try to find anyone or anything to blame for our problems. Many of us walk around with defiled minds and defiled hearts and think that we can continue to go through the motions of life and as long as we are good more than bad we are okay. This is not how God works. What God desires for us is to see who we are in the light of His Word. I am not talking about an encounter or an experience as this can be affected by our emotions which can be manipulated by how we feel or what we believe, but I am talking about what scripture says and living according to what it says. We may not be able to see God on His throne as Isaiah did but we can see who He is through the Bible. This is the start of a process that will begin to change our lives. Isaiah would see his need for cleansing and receive it from God, and likewise, we also can find that cleansing from God that will change our lives. Like Isaiah, when we realize we are dirty and unworthy spiritually and turn to God for cleansing, we can be cleansed and made pure. I John 1:9 states: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. However; in order to truly confess our sin, we must see ourselves as God does and agree with Him that sin is sin. Name the sin you have committed, God already knows anyway so why try to hide and minimize it, and ask for forgiveness and God will not only forgive you but CLEANSE you. God’s desire is for us to be pure but we can’t be pure until we realize we need cleansing, and until that is done all things are defiled by us because we ourselves are defiled. Jesus is waiting for you to help you and cleanse you, but you need to take the first step. Jesus is longsuffering to you in that He hasn’t destroyed you because His desire is to save and purify you. Trust Him today and be made pure, He is waiting for you!
2Pe 3:9 ¶ The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
